Webinar: Introduction to Skin Delivery with Lipid Excipients

Two sessions:

April 6, 2021 - 3.00 pm CET
April 8, 2021 - 10.00 am CET
Delivering drug molecules to and through the skin results from the complex interplay between active pharmaceutical ingredient, skin condition and vehicle.  The design of the topical dosage form is critical to ensure drug solubilization and diffusion in the skin layers, while providing a patient-friendly texture.

A wide range of excipients is available to formulate these vehicles depending on the target (topical or transdermal delivery) and the required functionalities: solubilizers, permeation enhancers, emulsifiers, thickeners… This webinar aims at giving an overview on skin delivery and clues to select the appropriate excipients for efficient skin drug delivery.

Key learning objectives:

–    Skin constitution and organization
–    Strategies to deliver drug to and through the skin
–    Focus on solubilizers, solvents and permeation enhancers
–    Franz cells to assess drug permeation
–    Choice of dosage forms for topical and transdermal drug delivery
–    Focus on emulsifiers
–    Sensorial analysis to assess product texture
