Our history

Gattefossé started as a supplier of raw materials for the perfume sector, before shifting to manufacturing and marketing cosmetic ingredients in the 1930s and pharmaceutical excipients in the 1950s, while demonstrating the therapeutic properties of essential oils along the way. Firmly rooted in Lyon’s landscape, the company has always taken an outward-looking approach to business. After establishing distribution subsidiaries and production sites abroad, it now boasts a solid multicultural identity.
